Well, I handed out candy to about ten trick-or-treaters. Half of that was the kids next door and across the street. There were also a couple tiny children out with their dads and, my hero for the night, a maybe 13 year old boy out by himself. Children of Mt. Lebanon, you've really let me down. Next year I should find out where all the middle school kids live and tp their houses.

Oh, my god.

Well, that was some craziness. My parents and I drove down to DC on Saturday to watch my brother run the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday morning. There were so many people. We walked long distances and buzzed around on the Metro, managing to see him a couple times during the race (we waited for him at four different spots, but I only saw him twice). Marathon running isn't the best spectator sport. There's so many of them and they're moving so fast!

It doesn't measure up to what the runners had to endure, but, as spectators, we were on our feet all day and walked quite a few miles ourselves, but the weather was nice. It wasn't too hot in the sun or too cold in the shade. Although, there was a pretty fierce winds at times.

My mother's "Beat Oprah" sign seemed to be a hit. Happily, John was able to overcome his leg cramps and best Oprah's time by four minutes. Way to go, John.

Would you mind if I started using your last name as an expletive?

Merman
Here's one of the shirts I printed a month ago. I made three. This is the second best one. Two colors because Ian Short called me out for printing one color on a shirt. The title, if it were to have a title, would be: Can I Have A Sip Of Your Biggie?

Dear Kenny Rogers,

Please continue to use whatever means necessary to keep Tony La Russa and the Cardinals from winning the World Series.

All the best,

A fan

(it really was just dirt on his hand. it was there to draw attention away from the vaseline under the bill of his cap)

I was hanging out with Ben Folds in his apartment. I had dropped in unexpectedly. I asked him if he knew how we could get our hands on some guns. We played a board game that was kind of like checkers called Curio.

My parents went to the Pitt game yesterday, so my brother and I went to Applebee's for dinner. There was a flyer on the door advertising an Applebee's Halloween party next Friday, with a band and everything. We got a kick out of that whole idea, and, as I was following my brother through the door, I made the connection that the band was Teen Riot, Sean Lally's band. This lead to even more amusement because that would be worth going to. And there's a costume contest. And it would be the perfect cover to steal the picture of Corbin Bernsen, Tom Berenger, and Charlie Sean from Major League off the wall.
It's the Applebee's on Greentree Road at 9:30.
Somebody bring a phillips head screwdriver.

Stephen Colbert: A perfect score!
Bonnie R: Is that good?

The story behind the winner of Stephen Colbert's Green Screen Challenge.

He's got Richard Dawkins on tonight. That should be interesting.

Yesterday deserves a large post, and, since my hangover has finally subsided, here it comes.

First off was the Pitt game. I hadn't gone to one since they played WVU two Thanksgivings ago. It was an incredibly boring game with some horribly cold and wet weather, but at least they won. Anyway, stuck that out and met up with Kelly afterwards and watched the drumline.

Next, into Oakland where we went for Indian food. I hope you won't think any less of me when I tell you that I got a 1 on the spice scale. Pretty damn tasty though.

Then, off to Greentree. All I have to say is "I also like Star Wars."

Finally, to Friendship for birthday celebrating. People kept giving me alcohol and I kept drinking it. There was an excellent girl to guy ratio, fruity pink shots, and dancing. It was a good time. Thanks to everyone who gave me alcohol, dragged me out onto the dance floor, or felt me up.

When I finally got dropped off at home, my mother was still up (2:00, I think). I would've been so busted if it was ten years ago. We ended up talking until 4:00. Insomnia runs in the family. Am I forgetting anything? A lot of the end of the night was a blur.

Today I fought off a hangover and watched football.

What a great weekend.
