Went to see the CLO's production of Oklahoma! today. Very, very good. It was so cool when the curtain rose and there was Shirley Jones (Marian The Librarian!), as Aunt Eller, churning butter. Very, very cool. It was an incredibly solid production (but, hey, with Shirley Jones in the cast I'm not gonna be the weak link, right?). The standouts were Ado Annie (played as absolutely insane), the peddler (who had a couple almost Borat moments), and Jud Fry (who, when played by an actor who's more attractive than Curly, makes things very interesting, and starts you pondering the differences between Jud and Carousel's Billy Bigelow).
Also, Jud Fry, when played by an attractive actor, is so emo.
