Productivity is way down.
All I do is watch this video.
Pray for me.

The AIR Summer Bash is coming up on June 21st. We're doing the t-shirt raffle again this year. I'm currently trying to design a shirt that will cause people to vomit because of the sheer glory of it. Wish me luck.

I was looking through an old notebook last night and I came across this gem: My favorite pickup line is "Gee, your boyfriend sure is ugly".

Hey yo. Which is to say, hey, yo. Indeed. I'm currently without a computer to call my own. I did manage to get pretty far along on one of my print designs before my computer went to Texas, but all computer based art has been shut down for almost three weeks now. In the interim, the unthinkable has happened, I've been forced to create art using "pencils", "paper", and "pens" (lets go Pens). I printed up a couple new shirt designs last Thursday. I really like the one (and I printed up multiple copies of it) and the other is kind of disturbing. Both designs are under top secret clearance for a bit though. Well, Luke never looks at this (happy Lucas eve!) so I guess it really doesn't matter, but just hold your horses. Jeez.

I'm painting walls at AIR this week so production is on hold.
I did come up with a couple new ideas in bed last night.
So.

Hello, internet friends! This may turn into a production blog for a bit. Multiple projects in an overall plan are afoot and I'd like to keep track of the progress. What's the plan? Glad you asked. Imagine a series of prints along with a related animation. Yeah, I've got the animation bug again. The animation is feeding the prints and vise versa. It's a vicious cycle of creativity! The prints are rolling along nicely, but I'm basically starting from square one with the animation. I'm learning a new program (Blender) and creating a whole new vocabulary (well, I'm using my print vocabulary but I'm translating it...). I've got two themes in production right now. I guess I actually have two completed prison prints, one in production, and I'm working on a prison themed animation. Yesterday, I started on not one but two prints of an idea that's been floating around in my head for years. I've thumbnailed and done layouts of it before but yesterday I jumped into Illustrator and made the hard compositional decisions. Now it's "just" a matter of drawing it, redrawing it, and redrawing it some more. And formatting decisions. Formatting decisions kill me. Do I draw it smaller or print it on a bigger piece of paper? Should I do it as a mini-comic or do it full size? Vanilla or strawberry? You get the idea.

I can see it in my head. But it's almost like I'm afraid to try and let it out. Yeah, it might not be as good, but it might be better, or good in a different way, and isn't it more fun to share the imperfect version than keep the flawless one to myself?

It's strange to be printing while it's light out.
Usually I'm a print vampire.

I’ve been trying to come up with a new narrative for myself. In my new mythology I’m adventurous. I’m a superhero but I’ve forgotten who I am, and although I’m lost, my true nature shines through. Eventually, the Human Torch will recognize me and drop me in the ocean, restoring my memory, and freeing me to resume my war on humanity. And he’ll burn off my beard with a flaming finger. Or something. I’ve never actually read that issue.
But, of course, my studies have shown me that I am both the Sub-Mariner and the Human Torch in the story. So.
