It is impossible to objectively compare the emerging hedonistic world of mid twentieth century America that influenced Meat Loaf with the post World War II England that birthed Freddie Mercury; an England that was painfully coming to terms with their own ingrained authoritarianism in the face of the collapse of Fascism.
