A most hardy good afternoon! Since we last spoke I tore it up at a wedding, saw Pete Yorn in concert for the third time, ate chicken soup at my grandmother's, read The Art of Learning by Josh Waitzkin, started exercising again, and took part in many other wholesome activities around the house. Things are very interesting. Take last night for instance. My brother and I were watching the Pirate play the Rockies in Colorado. At some point, our mother came up from the basement, where she's making cushion covers for the couches, and joined us. We then proceeded to have a spirited conversation about sports, childhood, dreams, and testosterone levels in the womb. I may or may not have revealed that I'll be living as a woman from now on. Good times.

I was at the zoo with my infant son. The kid had an enormous, Charlie Brown-like head. His head was so big that I wasn't sure my skinny arms would be able to carry him.

And I was all like: woo woo woo! Checking in from the old moon base. Closing in on the twelve hour mark. All liquid refreshment ran out hours ago, yet spirits remain high. No one left but me. Three color print completed. Firing squibs and sounding the all clear.

Just got the schedule for the AIR Summer Bash. I'll be assisting in the intaglio shop from noon-4 pm, and I'll be upstairs screenprinting with the Warhol kids from 4 pm - 8 pm. I'll also be floating around, having a real good time from 8 pm until midnight.

Jordan Staal getting arrested in Minnesota would make a great Hold Steady song. Or a whole series of Hold Steady songs.

I sorted through the shirts in my closet earlier this evening. It was way overdue. My categories ended up being: I wear this, I could work in this and thereby destroy it, destroyed, I'll never wear that, I'll never wear that but I could print something on it, and that's not my shirt.
I also learned the intro to When Doves Cry, but it's not the same when the drums don't kick in.

You know, if I'd kept up my monthly "things I never did before" series July's entry would probably have ended up being "bought lipstick".

Today was the crazy. A mailing was put together at AIR. A screen printed flyer for the Summer Bash was to be sent to everyone on the mailing list. I believe there are about 900 names on the mailing list. Envelopes were stuffed. Stamps and address stickers were affixed. The chop was used. Multiple "AIR" stamps were applied. A random stamp that said "Original" was used on the back of each envelope. It was brought to our attention that the flyer didn't have the date on it. Envelopes were emptied. A screen was prepared. A pair of tireless volunteers printed the date on all the cards. The envelopes were re-stuffed. My wrists hurt. All is well.
Speaking of the Summer Bash (That's July 28th. Noon to midnight. $10), there are currently three shirts in the raffle pile. I believe the majority of the shirts are from the second-hand store and are rather skanky. It should still be pretty awesome though.

I really need to go see Ratatouille again, but what I'm really looking forward to is the making of featurette on the DVD. I love me some Pixar making of footage, so inspirational. The Incredibles behind the scenes stuff is even better now because when Lou Romano shows up he sounds uncannily like the guy from Ratatouille. How does he do that?
