Finished!
No, wait, I don't have a cover!
Shit!

Still awake.
Starting to lose it.
Thumb hurts.
22 pages.
Only 5 panels to go.
And a cover.

This is getting crazy.
Tensies!

Blasted out two more.
Finally got to the part of the story that's all convicts.
I can draw convicts in my sleep.
Hopefully it won't come to that.
Hand hurts.
Really looking forward to the splash page.
Damn you, four panel grid!
Also, I love Scott McCloud.
He called me an "innovator of the future!".
This post is too long.
Back to work!

16 pages.
Pausing to brush teeth.
Mind going.
Damn you, Scott McCloud!

Halfway home!

Twelve pages! Twelve and a half hours to go! Can I get to the end without sleeping? Good thing the Steelers don't play until 8:00!

Eight and a half hours in. Ten pages strong. Feeling tired. Thought of horrible, horrible ending. Will post on Flickr when done. Breaking to watch third period of the Pens game and give wrist a breather.

I didn't find out until yesterday that today is 24 Hour Comic Day. You may recall that I did one in 2004 (pencils without inks, very shaky). That 24 Hour Comic Day was most memorable for being on April 24th which was the day the Steelers picked Ben Roethlisberger ("With the 11th pick the Steelers select Ben Roethlisberger." "Who?").

Anyway, I woke up this morning with ideas in my head so I figured I'd go again. Started at noon, six pages done. I'm "inking" this time. It takes me about two hours to do three pages using my background free style. Back to work.

"The hobo’s kitchen smelled of boiled yams,
but all the food tasted like the bottom of your shoe."

So, I went to see Ratatouille again yesterday and I wore my Enrico Casarosa Haiku 5-7-5 shirt. Beat that for nerdiness.

Does anyone know a good place to buy a fake mustache?

"What's wrong with your nipple?"
"What's wrong with my nipple? What's wrong with your nipple?"
"Touché."

And, just like that, it's warm again.

I think I was in a light hibernation this morning.
I want to go back.

Good morning, friends! I have been keeping my sunshine from you. A thousand pardons! It's time for our semi-bi-monthly update! Rapid fire style! Since our last update I started working out, drove to D.C. for an awesome party where I sang karaoke Brittney Spears, worked open studio, played the drums, discovered the joys of hitting with a wooden bat, sang Jilted John karaoke, saw Superbad, went to the opening of the awesome Yinz Got Posters? show at AIR, watched the Steelers beat the Brownies, shaved my head, went to Delanie Jenkins' opening at the PCA, watched the Steelers beat the Buff Bills, worked open studio again, drew strange vegetables, went golfing in the sweltering heat, watched the Steelers beat the 'Niners, worked open studio for a third time, watched the Steelers lose to the Cardinals, cut the grass, drew strange horses, printed strange horses with kids at the Sewickley Heights History Center, watched the Steelers beat the Seahawks, and went golfing again in much better weather except that it rained for about three holes. Also, watched a bunch of playoff baseball. Whew. More regular posting to begin in about a week and a half, I can feel it.
